We use the finest of hardwoods in construction of our heirloom furniture.  Most often our pieces are built from Cherry, Walnut, Red Oak, or Maple.  We can also build from any hardwood that is available, when requested by the customer, such as White Oak, Ash, Sassafras or Quarter Sawed Oak if available.

The finish on a piece adds both protection and beauty.  We use finishes which match the items being built.  A desk or table will have a more durable finish applied because of the use it will receive.

Key Benefits

bullet

We sand each piece so that the finish will flow smooth and will have the finest appearance possible.  A great finish cannot be attained if the piece has not been prepared properly.  We machine sand each piece during the construction process.  After final construction we machine and hand sand every part of the piece.  We sand with progressively finer sandpaper so you will see the wood grain and not sanding marks in the final finish.

bullet

We use a variety of finishes to match the customer's desire and to provide the proper durability.  At times we will use lacquer which brings a warmth to the piece.  Other times we may use a urethane because of its durability.

bullet

We seal the piece both inside and out.  This helps to prevent the wood from warping.

Things We Don't Do
